Paul intended this to be a fundamental principle for all people who have put their faith in Jesus Christ and have become new creations in Him. Now, Paul is then drawing the application of this point to probably one of the most difficult circumstances to find yourself in, that of a bondservant, a slave. Regardless of your circumstances. We can remain our situations because we abide with God. We wonder if the grass is greener or if our good shepherd might be leading us to greener pasture syndrome. Gods Calling Teaches Us to Abide with God. 28 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears, we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.1 John 2:28, ESV Paul gives a resounding no in verse 3.
